We’ve partnered with Duuo to provide our vendor members with access to affordable vendor insurance coverage. With Duuo, you can get affordable coverage for farmers’ markets and other events you’ll be vending at, just for the days you need it.

Duuo Insurance Package options for BC Farmers’ Markets Vendor-Members

As a BC Farmers’ Markets Vendor Member, you’re entitled to preferred pricing on the cost of your insurance policy. Choose from a series of packages designed to offer flexible coverage that provides protection on the days you actually need it. Pricing is based on a liability limit of $2 million and a booth size that is 200 sq. ft. or under.

  • 1-Day Policy: Perfect for the casual vendor! Provides protection for one day. Policies start at $12.
  • Flex Pass: Vending a bit more often? The Flex Pass provides protection for the first 4 market days at any location over a 6-month period. Policies start at $40.


What does vendor insurance cover?

Duuo’s Vendor Insurance policies cover the following:

  • Liability (Bodily Injury & Property Damage)
  • Tenants’ legal liability
  • Medical payments*
  • Products-completed operations
    *We offer limited coverage for medical expenses incurred. For more detailed information on
    what’s covered, please refer to your policy.

Claims process
Should anything go wrong, we’ve made our claims process as simple and straightforward as possible. Just log in to your account and click on the claims tab, where you can let us know what happened. One of our friendly claims adjusters will follow up with you to move the process forward.

How to Access Duuo Vendor Insurance

For renewing BCAFM Vendor Members

STEP 1: Purchase your membership in the BCAFM Vendor Membership Program

In order to qualify for preferred group rate vendor insurance benefits (among other benefits), you must be an approved member of the BCAFM Vendor Membership Program. This includes paying an annual membership fee of $75.

Why do I need vendor insurance and how will it benefit me?

What If?

  • During a strong wind, a tent lifts into the air and hits and hurts a person or damages a parked vehicle
  • During a sale, a person slips while in your area and gets hurt
  • During a sale, a person knocks your table, the table falls and a patron is hurt
  • Someone gets sick or reacts to the product you are selling at the market
  • Someone breaks a tooth on your food

Am I covered?

If you have liability insurance to cover the market, then you could be covered.  If not, you would have to pay for the damages from your own pocket.  Some claim settlements can be quite large and you could lose your savings or even your home to cover the losses.


It depends. BCAFM requires 3 to 5 business days to review and approve vendor applications in the BCAFM Vendor Membership Program. Once approved and BCAFM has processed your $75 payment, completing an insurance policy via the Duuo website is instantaneous!

The $75 BCAFM Vendor Membership Fee is an annual fee that must be renewed each year before you are eligible for preferred group rate insurance benefits.
