BCAFM market members: This session aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills to recognize cultural appropriation as it pertains to Indigenous culture, identity, and teachings. Participants will explore the fine line between appropriation and appreciation and why the former is so harmful to many Indigenous Peoples.
Learning points:
- Definitions and difference between Cultural Appropriation and Cultural Appreciation
- Historical background on Indigenous erasure
- Mobilizing appreciation and amplification
