Hey Amazing Market Folk: BCAFM is looking for board members!
The BC Association of Farmers’ Markets (BCAFM) board of directors is seeking skilled leaders and innovators in the BC farmers’ market sector that want to have a role in shaping the future of farmers’ markets, communities, and food systems across British Columbia.

We are a passionate group enthusiastic about farmers’ markets and food security, governance and the responsibility that comes with it. We work hard to ensure we are doing everything we can to support our members through our small and mighty staff team.
Our board is made up of 9 members; we have 5 positions open and one current board member running for re-election. What are we looking for?
- Treasurer: One of the departing board members is our treasurer so we are specifically looking for someone with financial experience and acuity to fill that role. The treasurer position must be filled by someone residing in the Lower Mainland so that they can sign cheques in person, and is a high touch position that works closely with our executive director. - All other positions are directors at large and are open to all areas of the province, with that said, we try to represent all regions of the province on the board and based on outgoing board members are looking for folks involved with markets in the following regions: Northern BC, City of Vancouver, Fraser Valley, Sea to Sky and Thompson Okanagan. Having said that, if you’re keen, have some time and skills to offer, and are from other regions – please apply!

The BCAFM board meets approximately 10 times a year via zoom and, when travelling is possible, in person once a year for a planning retreat and again at the annual conference/AGM.
